Social Program

The 14th IAA Symposium on Small Satellites for Earth System Observation will provide a forum for scientists, engineers, and managers to exchange information about planned and on-going programs and missions, and present new ideas, covering small satellite mission objectives 
as well as technology and management aspects for dedicated satellites for Earth and Moon observation.

We are pleased to offer you with the symposium a social program. This will be an excellent opportunity to network in an informal setting.

The social program 14th IAA Symposium on Small Satellites for Earth System Observation 2023 will include:

  • Participation in the evening reception with food & beverages on 8 May 2023
  • Technical Tour at TU Berlin on May 12, 2023

 

Symposium Dinner on May 9, 2023

The symposium dinner will take place at  Restaurant Hackescher Hof Berlin

The symposium dinner will start at 19:00 o’clock.
The evening will start with a reception on the restaurant´s terrace, the dinner will take place at the room Endell’ s Hall, 
designed by August Endell in 1906.

The restaurant provides us a delicious three-course dinner (include vegetarian option) – please state your dietary preferences when you buy your ticket. The price of the dinner will include also drinks for 4 h (wine, craft beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea).


Please note:

  • The symposium dinner is a ticketed event, you must have registered and paid for the dinner event. 
    During the registration process, you will have the option to purchase a dinner ticket..
  • The dinner ticket is 140,00 €. All food and beverages are included in the price.
    The symposium dinner will be from 19:00-23:00 o’clock.
  • The participation is limited to 50 participants.
  • Registration will close on April 28, 2023.

The S Bahn Station Berlin Zoologischer Garten is nearest S-Bahn station from the venue LEH (approx. 3-5 minutes walking distance). 
The journey time between Berlin Zoologischer Garten and Hackesche Höfe is around 12 minutes. Operated by S-Bahn Berlin, the Berlin Zoologischer Garten to Hackesche Höfe service departs from S Bahn station Zoologischer Garten Bhf and arrives in Hackesche Höfe.

When leaving the S-Bahn, please use the staircase exit Hackescher Markt and walk straight (across the traffic lights) towards the restaurant. 
The restaurant is located directly at the entrance to the Hackesche Höfe. (2 minutes walking distance from S Bahn station Hackescher Markt)

The price for a BVG single journey ticket is 3,20 Euro ( please choose fare zone AB)

Technical Tour to TU Berlin on May 12, 2023

Technical Tour to TU Berlin on Friday, May 12, 2023

Unfortunately, due to capacity reasons, we have to limit the tour to a maximum of 60 participants.

We would like to inform the participants who have expressed their interest in the tour in advance that they can register bindingly for the tour during the registration onsite and receive a colored wristband for it.
Registration for  the Technical TU Berlin is available on a first come, first served basis - for registering please come to the registration desk onsite at the venue LEH.

We plan to split the participants in 4 groups: 15 persons per group.

Location:        Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Marchstraße 12-14, 10587 Berlin.

Admission:    from 9:45 o`clock, room F216 (left entrance, second floor, please follow the signs)

Start:               10:00 o`clock

Program:

10:00 – 11:00   
Introduction to 4 working groups (Distributed Space Systems, Exploration & Propulsion and Rendezvous & Docking) and their projects

11:00 – 12:15    
Tour containing ground station, mission control center, propulsion test bed, satellite integration lab

12:15 – 13:00    
Get-together with drinks and snacks
